WORLD MUST ACT SWIFTLY TO BREAK THE CYCLE OF VIOLENCE IN GAZA: As the conflict in South Gaza intensifies, the United Nations has urgently called for the protection of civilians, denouncing Israel's resumption of military operations that exacerbate the humanitarian crisis. The World Health Organisation has also emphasised the need to safeguard civilians and vital infrastructure, including hospitals. The situation, marked by repeated displacements and strained medical facilities, requires immediate global intervention. The international community must prioritise a ceasefire, address root causes, and ensure humanitarian aid reaches those in need. Israel, bound by international agreements, is urged to restrain from targeting civilians. The world must act swiftly to break the cycle of violence and protect the vulnerable in South Gaza, whose lives hang in the balance. (By Sadiq Shaban, Opinion Editor)
