THE BIGGEST IPO OF 2023: Arm Holdings' IPO, priced at the top of its range, is set to raise $4.87 billion, making it the year's largest listing and a potential boost to equity markets. The Nasdaq IPO is set to rank among the tech industry's largest-ever, though still well below the two biggest: Alibaba Group's $25 billion 2014 offering and 2012's $16 billion debut by Meta Platforms, then known as Facebook. SoftBank's chip-designer subsidiary, Arm, sold 95.5 million shares at $51 each, valuing the company at approximately $54.5 billion. Despite an earlier aim of raising $8-10 billion, SoftBank's decision to retain a larger stake in Arm led to the lower offering. BOLD STEP: The introduction of a federal law that caps the total weight of heavy vehicles at 65 tonnes is a significant move towards enhancing road safety and preserving infrastructure.
