NEW NUTRITIONAL STRATEGY IN UAE STRESSES ON HEALTHIER LIFESTYLES: The launch of a national nutritional strategy by the Ministry of Health and Prevention in the UAE is yet another indicator of the extent to which the government goes to ensure the well-being of residents. With specific goal posts and targets, the strategy actually spells out specific steps, enabling the UAE to develop sustainable and flexible food systems for healthy diets and provide health systems and comprehensive coverage of basic nutrition measures. Besides, it will also offer social protection and nutrition education, making sure that individuals across different age brackets are adequately covered. And why is that significant? It's not often that you get to watch a home-grown talent put the spotlight on tales steeped in Arabic reality. Shot in Lebanon, 'Farah' -- which stars Lebanese pop idol and actress Stephanie Atala -- chronicles the life of a young woman grappling with mental health issues. It's a complex and thought-provoking topic, and this director-duo (who are also married to each other) have done a neat job of putting together a story that makes you think, long after the curtains come down. We always complain that UAE cinemas only showcase mainstream Hollywood and Bollywood movies high on action, stunts, and romance. But here's your chance to watch a film that affects all of us, but we are scared to talk about it.
