DUBAI PMI UP TO EIGHT-MONTH HIGH IN APRIL: Growth in the Dubai non-oil economy accelerated to an eight month high of 56.4 in April, latest PMI survey data showed. The travel & tourism and wholesale & retail sectors experienced a significant boost in sales momentum, indicating a strong improvement in the overall health of the emirate’s non-oil economy. This resulted in business conditions growing at one of the fastest rates since mid-2019, with new business intakes increasing more sharply than in March and overall activity levels rising at a faster pace. Companies also sought to add workers in April in line with higher output requirements. The rate of job creation slowed from March's over five-year high but was still elevated.
