Sharjah: A section of a major road in Sharjah will be partially closed for six days as authorities carry out maintenance and infrastructure improvement works aimed at improving traffic flow and road efficiency.

Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority said the closure will affect the dual carriageway alongside the Al Hazana area, in the direction from Saeed bin Obaid Al Jarwan Square towards Sheikh Mohammed bin Sultan Bu Alian Square.

The partial closure will begin on Sunday, August 23, and remain in place until Friday, August 28.

Motorists will be redirected to alternative routes around Al Hazana during the works, with traffic continuing to move through surrounding roads and intersections.

According to the approved traffic plan, the affected section extends along the road bordering Al Hazana, while alternative routes will provide connections through the surrounding road network, including roads linked to Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi Street.

The authority urged motorists to follow temporary traffic diversions, directional signs and road safety instructions throughout the six-day closure.

Drivers travelling through the area may need to allow additional time for their journeys while the diversions are in place.
