Dubai: Metro, bus, abra, free parking timings for New Year

Dubai: The 2021 New Year will see authorities across the UAE step up services to facilitate movement as people head out to enjoy the fireworks and New Year celebrations. Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced updated timings for all its services from Thursday, December 31, 2020 to Saturday, January 2, 2021.

So, if you are planning to use any of the public transport facilities in the emirate, these are the timings that they will be operating.

Parking

Friday January 1, 2021

All public parking areas in Dubai, except for multi-level parking terminals, will be for free

Saturday, January 2, 2021

The parking fees will be reactivated on Saturday.

Dubai Metro

Red Line

Red Line will operate continuously from 5am on Thursday, December 31, 2020, until 1am on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

Green Line

The Green Line will operate continuously from 5.30am on Thursday, December 31, 2020, to 1am on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

Dubai Tram

The Dubai Tram will operate continuously from 6am, Thursday, December 31 until 1am on Saturday, January 2, 2021.

Buses

Friday, January 1

Main Stations (including Gold Souq Station) will operate from 5.32am to 12.59am the next day.

Al-Ghubaiba Station from 4.43am to 12.29am the next day.

Sub-stations (including Satwa Station) will start from 5.04am to 11:29pm except for Route C01, which will be operating around-the-clock.

Al Qusais Station from 5am to 12.08am (the next day).

Al Quoz Industrial Station from 5.30am to 11.35pm.

Jebel Ali Station from 5.40am to 12.51am (the next day).

Metro Link Bus Service

Rashidiya, Mall of the Emirates, Ibn Battuta, Dubai Mall/Burj Khalifa, Abu Hail, and Etisalat will be in service from 5.00am to 1.10 am (the next day).

Marine Transport

Water Bus

Thursday December 31, 2020

The Water Bus will operate at Marina Stations (Marina Mall, Marina Walk, Marina Terrace, Marina Promenade) from 10am up to 8pm.

Friday, January 1, 2021

The Water Bus will operate from the same stations from 12 noon to 12 midnight

Traditional Abra

Thursday, December 31, 2020

Dubai Old Souq – Baniyas from 7am to 8pm

Dubai Old Souq-Al Fahidi- Al Sabkha from 8am to 8pm

Al Seef-Baniyas Stations from 7am to 8pm

Jadaf-Dubai Festival Mall from 7am to 8pm.

Friday, January 1, 2021

Dubai Old Souq - Baniyas from 10am to 1am the following day

Deira Old Souq -Al Fahidi-Al Sabkha from 10am to 12 midnight

Al Seef-Baniyas from 10am to 1am the following day

Sheikh Zayed Road Station and Dubai Creek Stations (both directions) from 4pm to 11pm

Jadaf- Dubai Festival Mall from 10am to 12 midnight.

Electric Abra

Thursday December 31, 2020

The Electric Abra will operate at the Global Village from 4pm to 11pm.

Friday, January 1, 2021

Electric Abra will operate at Burj Khalifa from 6pm to 11pm and at the Global Village from 4pm to 11pm.

Dubai Ferry

Thursday December 31, 2020

Al Ghubaiba-Dubai Water Canal-Dubai Marina Mall at 11am and 1pm.

Friday January 1, 2021

Al Ghubaiba-Dubai Water Canal-Dubai Marina Mall from 1pm to 6.30pm

Dubai Marina Mall and Al Ghubaiba Stations will operate in both directions from 3pm to 5pm.
