Dubai Municipality has kicked off the third season of the Ramadan Souq on Saturday, January 25, at the Old Municipality Street Square in the Grand Souq, Deira. Running through to February 22, this vibrant event is designed to honour traditional customs in preparation for Ramadan. It also aims to promote the rich cultural heritage of Dubai’s traditional markets, positioning them as a key tourist attraction, while providing a platform for local businesses and investors to showcase their products.
The Ramadan Souq offers a diverse range of recreational, commercial, and cultural activities tailored to appeal to the entire community. Whether you are a local resident, a tourist, or a family with children, the market promises a memorable shopping experience with competitive prices.
Set against the backdrop of the historic Deira Souq, the market features a variety of stalls operated by long-standing shopkeepers offering traditional Ramadan supplies. In addition to shopping, visitors can enjoy live entertainment, interactive workshops, and activities for children.
Timings - The Ramadan Souq is open daily from 10am to 10pm.
For a scenic trip to the Ramadan Souq, consider taking one of the RTA abras. These traditional boats offer a picturesque ride along Dubai Creek, providing a unique view of the city. You can hop on an Abra from either Al Fahidi or Al Shindagha stations to reach the Deira Old Souq.

Al Fahidi Station - Deira Old Souq Station (and vice versa): 10am - 11am, 4.30pm – 5.30 pm, 7pm - 8pm
Al Shindagha Station - Deira Old Souq Station (and vice versa): 10am – 11am, 4.30pm – 5.30pm, 7pm - 8pm
Alternatively, visitors can take the Dubai On and Off bus service, operated by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). This convenient tourist bus allows passengers to hop on and off at key tourist spots, including the Dubai Gold Souq, while enjoying the sights and snapping photos along the way. The bus departs from The Dubai Mall and operates daily from 10am to 10pm, with a frequency of 60 minutes.
For those using the Dubai Metro, the nearest stations to the Ramadan Souq are Al Ras and Gold Souq on the Green Line.
