Many shops were closed as the UAE began its national disinfection drive and implemented restrictions to stop the spread of COVID-19.

Even during the restrictions, supermarkets and pharmacies remained open.

However, recently, Dubai allowed some establishments to open from 8am to 8pm.

The announcement was made based on the requirement that the establishment adhere to social distancing protocols and ensure sanitisation procedures are followed.
