Volkswagen has revealed images of its CC (it’s just going to be called CC, the Passat name won’t be there anymore) four-dour coupe for the 2013 model year. The car will be unveiled officially at the Los Angeles motor show on November 16. Although the overall looks remain the same as the first generation car’s, there are a few changes here and there that give the car a refreshed look. The most striking difference is the grille with the prominent horizontal slats in line with VW’s new corporate face, but here it’s chrome-trimmed. Rounding off the changes up front are bi-xenon headlamps with LED running lamps, an extra air intake in the bumper and a re-sculpted bonnet.

In the rear, the new CC gets a reworked bumper and LED taillights. Also standard are new features like blind spot and lane assist, adaptive cruise control and ventilated seats with massage function.

There aren’t any changes in the engines offered. While in Europe the CC will be available with the 160bhp 1.8-litre or 210bhp 2.0-litre petrols and a 2.0-litre diesel, expect the 3.6-litre V6 to be carried over when it reaches the UAE following the global launch early next year.
