Indian percussionist Sivamani has rescheduled his concert at Global Village on Thursday evening until March 24 due to the heavy rain.

He couldn’t reach the UAE as planned due to bad weather.

Global Village was closed on Wednesday and is expected to reopen on Thursday at 4pm. However, the concert date has been changed.

“The rescheduling of the concert is due to the fact that Sivamani was unable to reach the country as scheduled due to bad weather conditions. The concert is now scheduled for Thursday, March 24 and will take place at Global Village’s main cultural stage starting at 9pm,” said a Global Village spokesperson in a statement.

Sivamani, who has performed in concerts across the world and with musicians such as A R Rahman and Zakir Hussain, creates rhythmic sounds on several instruments including the drums, octoban and darbuka (goblet drum), He has also played percussion for Bollywood hits including Rang De Basanti, Taal, Rockstar and Dil Se.

The concert is included in the price of Global Village’s entry ticket for Dh15. For details, log on to www.globalvillage.ae.
