Porsche launches Panamera in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi: German auto manufacturer Porsche late on Monday launched the Panamera in Abu Dhabi, reinforcing the view that despite a global economic slowdown, the demand for luxury cars remains strong in the emirate.

"The gasoline-powered Panamera is available in three variants with prices starting from Dh439,100, going all the way up to Dh620,000 for the top-end turbo variant," a sales representative for Ali & Sons Co LLC, Porsche's dealer in Abu Dhabi, told Gulf News at the car's launch.

All Panamera variants have direct fuel injection, low-friction drivetrains, and come equipped with lightweight body technology.

The top-end Panamera Turbo comes with a 500-hp, eight-cylinder engine. Porsche claims it has a top speed of 303 km/hour and goes from 0 to 100 km/hour in 4.2 seconds.
