The Awakening, James Morrison

Rating 4/5
Morrison's back with his signature melancholia and distinctive vocals for an offering that errs on the side of easy listening - all ballads, melodies and acoustic strumming. Teaming up with British pop star du jour, Jessie J, on the album's standout track, Up, has seen Morrison changed tact, with the only downside being there are no surprises here. You won't be playing this at your NYE party, but you just may pop it on the morning after the night before for some soothing sounds.

Talk that Talk, Rihanna

Rating 4/5
Known for her eyebrow raising antics on and off stage, it will come as no surprise that Rihanna's sixth album is no different. True to form, Riri has stuck to her Good Girl Gone Bad mantra of 2007 and has swapped innuendo for just coming out and saying exactly what she is thinking. Aside from the lyrics which will make your granny blush, this is Rihanna's tightest album yet. She has mega producers on board and has released an album you'll want to dance to from start to finish.

Under the Mistletoe, Justin Bieber

Rating 5/5
The Biebs has unleashed his brand of Christmas cheer with his festive release, Under The Mistletoe, which sees him team up with a host of stars including Usher, Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men. Expect plenty of Christmas classics, such as All I Want For Christmas Is You and Santa Claus Is Coming To Town, as well as a selection of original set-to-become-Christmas-classics. In short, this will be soundtracking your journey through the mall this festive season. Don't fight it!
