Los Angeles: Leading man Jason Statham has bought the family home of fashion designer Jenni Kayne and her husband, real estate agent Richard Ehrlich, for $12.995 million.

The Beverly Hills house was on the market for only five days before the action star clinched the deal.

The 1980s two-storey house was dated and in need of repair when the couple bought it in 2006 for $4.582 million.

Working with architect Jeffrey Allsbrook, the pair expanded the home to include living, family, great and dining rooms, a den, a media room, five bedrooms and eight bathrooms. Tax records report more than 5,600 square feet of interior space.

Reclaimed barn wood was used for the kitchen ceilings, counters and built-in seating. There are fireplaces in the den, living room and master bedroom.

Set on more than a third of an acre, the contemporary showplace is surrounded by hedges and opens to a koi pool with a fountain. Native grasses, decomposed concrete paths and olive trees complete the grounds.

Statham, 47, is known for his action roles in the Fast & Furious, Expendables and Transporter film series. The box-office draw stars this year in Wild CardSpy and Furious 7. He'll star next year in Mechanic: Resurrection."

Kayne has her own fashion label and stores in West Hollywood, Brentwood and Montecito. The high-profile house has been featured in such publications as Architectural Digest and C Magazine.
