Saloon being tested at the Nürburgring

Even though it's covered in that thick, black camouflage, we can still tell you that this is the new Lexus GS saloon. Our spy caught up with the car, which looks like the LF-Gh concept that was unveiled at the New York car show, while it was being tested at the Nürburgring. It looks rather more exciting than you would expect from a Lexus, thanks to the new design language. The body looks muscular and aggressive while the LEDs at the front and back give it a stern expression. The sharply defined lower intakes get a big tick, and the cabin features a mouse-style controller which already sits in the CT200h. Brushed metal accents and a centrally mounted analogue clock look particularly neat, too. As for the power, we expect a 3.5-litre V6 with 300bhp to propel the GS and there’s bound to be a hybrid version too, first for the US market. The 5 Series and E-Class had better watch out, this 2012 GS is planning on taking a major chunk from their sales when it hits the streets later this year.
