There are few months of the year when you can honestly say it's a bit parky here in the desert, and since January is one of them, we're jumping on fashion's new- found love for the humble jumper.

Super-chic summer sweaters were all over the runways; and from Burberry and Jil Sander to Marc Jacobs and Jonathan Saunders, it was all about embracing Mad Men allure.

Tucked in and belted or cropped to rest perfectly on the waistband, the most snooze-worthy wardrobe staple has had a complete fashion transformation, and Hollywood has gone wild for the woolly pully.

From Emma Stone's scarlet cashmere and pink peplum skirt triumph to Anna Wintour's front row uniform of dirndl skirt and crew neck cashmere, a natty knit is a spring must.

Embrace the cold(ish) snap while it lasts, think cheerleader thoughts and prepare to get knitted, girls.
