Juggling work with parties over the festive season is something most never master with much success.
While it would be fabulous to have several hours to nip to the hairdressers and nail salon after a quick blast in sun, the reality is a far cry away.
tabloid! called in the experts from Dubai's Salon Ink to make sure hair is one thing which can be ticked from the list of things to panic about.
This year's Christmas style is no fuss, focused and easy to achieve either in the salon or at home, says stylist Rachael Stevenson. Just what we wanted to hear. She gives her tips on getting celebrity style with minimum fuss.
Jennifer Aniston
Jen's stylist says this season is all about braids. For her signature smart-casual look, your hair can be blow dried fresh with a large round brush or done the day before.
Product tip: Try using a body boosting product when blow drying to give that extra bit of bounce — we like Sebastian's Thickefy Foam.
Step 1: From a low side parting take a section about 1-2 inches deep across the front hairline and slightly into the side of your hair (this allows the hair above to cover the end of your braid).
Step 2: Braid the section tightly and fasten with a small band, or alternatively you can pin the braid down.
Step 3: For extra oomph, take some random sections and curl with hot tongs.
Expert advice: Remember to finish this style off with some serum to give the hair separation and gloss, like Liquid Gloss by Sebastian.
Party perfect: This is a great style if you need to go from beach to lounge in a few minutes.
Taylor Swift
For this style your hair needs to be freshly shampooed and curled with hot tongs (if you have naturally curly hair, this style can be mimicked for a more casual effect).
Product tip: Remember to use a heat protection spray when using your tongs — we like Trilliant by Sebastian, as it also has tiny crystals to give your hair that extra shimmer for the festive season.
Step 1: With a side parting split your hair down the centre and loosely twist each side to the nape of your neck and pin securely. Let some pieces fall around the face to softly frame.
Step 2: The sections should come together at the base of your nape. Pile the ends of your hair together and randomly pin where your twists came together letting pieces fall naturally to give a tousled effect.
Step 3: Keep your style in place with a strong hairspray — we like Sebastian Shaper Fierce ultra-firm finishing spray.
Expert advice: The more random you allow this style to be, the more natural it will be. Don't obsess over each strand.
Party perfect: This style should come with a warning: Red carpet siren approaching!
Kristin Chenoweth
This casual tossed-up bun style is great for day-old blow dried or curled hair.
Hot tip: The more texture your hair has developed during the day the more you achieve the casual effect.
Step 1: Slightly backcomb the roots of the hair from behind the fringe to where the head starts to round (keep going down the back of the head if you like to create an exaggerated "bump"), and comb lightly over the top to cover the backcombing.
Step 2: Pull the hair into a low ponytail at the nape of the neck and secure with a hair band, letting random pieces fall around the face.
Step 3: Twist the hair around the hair band like a loose bun and fasten with pins (you can also lightly backcomb the hair in the ponytail first to give it more volume when you wrap it around your hair band).
Expert advice: This style can be modified by taking the bun to the side. For those who don't have a fringe, middle or side partings also work really well.
Party perfect: Don't forget to accessorise with a little bling to really bring the party look together.
Lucy Liu
This sophisticated ponytail is great for day-old blow dried hair when you just don't have the time to start over.
Product tip: Brush hair to remove any tangles and apply a smoothing serum for control — we love Potion 9 by Sebastian.
Step 1: Pull hair up into a high ponytail and secure tightly with a hairband.
Step 2: Spritz the hair with a non aerosol hairspray and use the back of your brush to smooth the hair.
Step 3: Take a piece of hair from the underside of the ponytail and wrap around the band to cover and secure with pins. Finish with hairspray.
Expert advice: Try gently backcombing the hair you wrap around the band first so it appears thicker.
Party perfect: Great office-to-party hair when there is no time to change.
