According to Gulf News reader Abdul Jaleel, pedestrians risk their lives every day when crossing the road at National Paints roundabout, in Sharjah.

Jaleel said: "It is a very busy junction between Dubai and Sharjah. Unfortunately no traffic light has been installed there yet and motorists wait a long time to try their luck when they approach the roundabout."

Jaywalkers are also common in this area due to the unavailability of traffic signals and zebra crossings, he added.

"I request the authorities to install a traffic light at the roundabout, to help save the lives of motorists," he said.
