Get the message straight on civic responsibilities

Abu Dhabi is a well-planned city with very good infrastructure, but it is really sad when people spray paint the walls of the subway and subway station building.

The photograph was taken in the pedestrian underpass on Electra Street in Abu Dhabi. Spoiling the city's image should be considered a serious issue. Severe punishments should be meted out to those who commit such uncivilised acts.

As residents of the UAE, we should discourage those who do such things. It is our responsibility to keep the city in which we live at its best.
