Work on Dh26m road project begins in RAK

Ministry of Infrastructure Development says it will be completed by Q2 of 2018

Ras Al Khaimah: Work on a Dh26-million internal road project has begun at the Batin Al Sammar Residential Complex in Ras Al Khaimah, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development announced on Wednesday.

The project is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2018, an official has said.

Ahmad Al Hammadi, director of the Roads Department at the ministry, said that the project will consist of double- and single-lane roads.

He added that lighting and signals of the roads, of low maintenance costs, will be powered by solar energy which will contribute to reducing carbon emissions.

Al Hammadi also pointed out that the project will be carried out according to the highest standards and will include a number of intersections and traffic signals.
