Ramadan Quran and prayer rug collection starts

Dubai: Dubai Municipality has launched an initiative to distribute donated copies of the Quran and prayer rugs, old or new, to workers in Ramadan. Last year, it distributed 3,500 copies and around 2,000 rugs. Of those, 1,000 copies and 500 rugs were distributed to municipality workers. The rest were handed over to a Ras Al Khaimah charity that the distributed them to poor Muslims in some Islamic countries. The municipality holds the drive during Ramadan, Haj season and on the Prophet Mohammad’s (PBUH) birthday.
