Dubai: Dubai-based Indian journalist Ismail Meladi's collection of poems in English,  "The Migrant Sandstones", will be released at the Sharjah International Book Fair tonight (Friday).

Veteran Arab poet Dr Shihab Ghanem will launch the book by giving a copy to Emirati poet Hamda Al Murr Al Muhairy at 10pm at the  Book Forum Hall.

The Migrant Sandstones, published by Lipi Publications, is the third  book of Meladi, who works as a senior media officer with Dubai Municipality. Earlier, he had published two collection of poems, "Dilli" (Delhi) and "Chintheritta Kaalam" (chiseled time) in Malayalam.

The new book mainly portrays his 10 years of journalistic experiences in Delhi as well as his extensive journeys through the length and breadth of northern Indian states.

Some of the poems in the book are based on Meladi’s two decades of experiences in the UAE.
