Dubai: Chief Happiness and Positivity Officers from various government agencies launched the ‘Happiness without Borders’ initiative in an effort to establish happiness and positivity as a lifestyle and a cultural trait in the UAE.

The idea is for Chief Happiness and Positivity Officers to offer free counselling to government and private institutions, where they share the experience and best practices they learnt at the training sessions organised by the National Happiness and Positivity Programme. This provides guidance and support for these institutions as they go about establishing positive work environments that ensure the happiness of employees, as well as customer satisfaction.

“The ‘Happiness without Borders’ initiative follows the UAE’s general trajectory, which prioritises education and training to empower the national workforce and involve them in government programmes,” said Uhoud Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Happiness.

“The initiative also bears testament to the success of the training programme for Chief Happiness and Positivity Officers, whose role was always intended to go beyond their respective organisations to target society as a whole.”

She applauded the Chief Happiness and Positivity Officers who developed the initiative, urging them to continue along the same path and undertake more projects that seek to make a difference in society, especially during the Year of Giving 2017.

The initiative includes interactive workshops rooted in science that offer support for institutions looking to establish happiness and positivity as a corporate culture. It connects these entities to certified experts from the National Happiness and Positivity Programme, who play an advisory role as the institutions set strategies to spread happiness among employees, customers and society at large.

Salah Al Hashemi, Chief Happiness and Positivity Officer at the Federal Authority for Nuclear Regulation (FANR), said: “The team behind the ‘Happiness without Borders’ initiative sought to use the experience and knowledge we acquired at the training sessions organised by the National Happiness and Positivity Programme, and pass them along to organisations across the UAE to promote happiness and support the nationwide Year of Giving initiative.”

Government and private institutions wishing to participate in the initiative can contact the team via email address hwb@happy.ae to set up workshops and seminars. Alternatively, the team can be contacted on their official Instagram account: @hwb.uae.
