Eleventh Arab International Women's Forum begins

Sharjah His Highness Dr Shaikh Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and Founder and President of American University of Sharjah, inaugurated the 11th Annual Conference of the Arab International Women’s Forum (AIWF) Wednesday morning at the American University of Sharjah.

The two-day conference titled “Emerging Economies, Emerging Leaderships: Arab Women and Youth as Drivers of Change” brings together  leading professionals and governmental leaders within the private sector and civil society, as well as experts from academia and the media.

The forum will discuss issues concerning activating women’s and youth’s role in the Arab region to improve the economy.

Wednesday's sessions are “women’s contribution to public life”, “Economic Development and the New Arab World” and “Linking Education and Stable Socio-Economic Development.”

Speakers at the inaugural session praised the role that the Emirate of Sharjah played in promoting and empowering women .
