Mazina comes as a breath of fresh air on the city's iftar circuit.
If you've been following our daily guide, you'd empathise if we told you there's such a thing as having seen it all, especially when it comes to iftar offerings. And as Ramadan wounds into its fourth week, we're guessing you're as determined as us to go easy on the Arabic delicacies — inclusive of all those sinful sweets.
That's why Mazina comes, to use a cliché, as a breath of fresh air on the city's iftar circuit. The hotel's signature restaurant outside of Ramadan serves Asian, Arabic and European dishes.
For its iftar offering, the focus is on Arabic delicacies, of course. But interestingly, the restaurant has decided to retain much of its international flair. This means you can tuck into a shawarma or lamb biryani and then hop to the next station for some sushi or have the chef wrap a succulent piece of Peking Duck in the accompanying pancake before you lose yourself in the kebab choices.
Each food item seems carefully thought out and lovingly prepared. The staff are ultra attentive but not imposing and the airy décor with well-spaced tables provides a perfect setting to end a long day.
