Bollywood actress tied the knot with UTV MD at a simple, closed ceremony

Bollywood's latest ishqiya kahaani (love story) entered a new chapter yesterday with actress Vidya Balan and Disney UTV managing director Siddharth Roy Kapur getting married at a quiet ceremony that wove together Tamil and Punjabi rituals.
Balan, whose films Ishqiya, Kahaani and The Dirty Picture propelled her to the top, is a Tamilian and Kapoor, who incidentally produced the acclaimed Balan-starrer No One Killed Jessica, has a Punjabi background.
The ceremony, which took place at the Green Gifts bungalow in upscale Bandra, Mumbai, was attended by the couple's close family and friends, including Bollywood diva Rekha.
Keeping it simple, Balan changed her wedding attire thrice, a friend said. While the wedding procession arrived in Punjabi style, complete with dhol and saafa (turban) sporting baraatis (groom’s guests), the food and set up was typically Tamilian. Celebrations have been on since December 11 featured the traditional mehndi (henna) and sangeet (musical night). The reception will reportedly take place today in Chennai.
