Nudity in Bollywood

While Nandana Sen -- famous for the controversial nude scenes in Ketan Mehta's Rang Rasiya -- has said “no'' to nudity, Neil Nitin Mukesh has decided to create ripples in Bollywood with his nude scene in Madhur Bhandarkar's Jail.

Sen got an offer from Italian filmmaker Italo Spinelli to play a tribal woman who's surreptitiously shot nude by a photographer. The film is based on Bengali litterateur Mahasweta Devi's provocative and controversial story Choli Ke Peeche. While Nandana was tempted, she felt doing a full-on topless scene -- a crucial part of the narrative -- so soon after Rang Rasiya was just not wise.

On the other hand, Neil, who plays a prisoner in Jail, has dropped his pants in a scene where prison authorities torture him. Shot at Karjat, the aesthetically-shot scene may introduce male frontal nudity for the first time in Bollywood. In fact, to make Neil comfortable, only Madhur and the cinematographer were present when the scene was shot. Madhur, who's known for making things as real as possible, came up with the idea after visiting prisons across India.


Farhan in Devdas

Farhan Akhtar has replaced Shiney Ahuja for Sudhir Mishra's version of Devdas. Farhan has been roped in as the lead actor opposite Kareena Kapoor. This political drama, which has some similarities with Hamlet, also stars Lara Dutta and Chitrangda Singh.


Three Idiots to clash with My Name is Khan

Aamir Khan deliberately wants Three Idiots to be released simultaneously with Shah Rukh Khan's My Name is Khan. This has even become a bone of contention between director Raj Kumar Hirani and Aamir, as the former wants to release the film towards the end of this year. Abhimanyu replaces Abhishek

Abhimanyu, the Gulaal actor, has finally replaced Abhishek Bachchan in Chandraprakash Dwivedi's next. Abhimanyu plays the younger version of Amitabh Bachchan in the film Kunal Avadan, which is based on the relationship between Mauryan Emperor Ashoka and his son Kunal. Abhishek was the original choice for Big B's younger version, but the director was so impressed with Abhimanyu's acting skills in Gulaal that he decided to sign him on.

Divya Dutta has some hot scenes in her upcoming films Monica and Hisss. She has some steamy lesbian love scenes with Kitu Gidwani in Monica and plays a bold woman ready to do anything just to get what she wants. In Hisss, she plays the vulnerable wife to Irrfan Khan and has a hot scene with him.

Kambakht Ishq to have an extraordinary premier

The buzz is that Sajid Nadiadwala is all set to have the premiere of Kambakht Ishq at the Cannes Film Festival on May 15. The people to be present at the premier are Sylvester Stallone, Akshay Kumar, Kareena Kapoor, Denise Richards and Brandon Routh. The film's running time might be cut down and dubbed entirely in English for the global audience. The last film that premiered at Cannes was Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Black.


Priyanka goes de-glam for Kaminay

She donned trendy minis and a bikini in Dostana and was an absolute stunner on the ramp in Fashion, but Priyanka Chopra is going the de-glam way for Vishal Bharadwaj's Kaminay. The film will be her first release this year after a hectic 2008, which saw her featuring in six back-to-back releases -- Love Story 2050, God Tussi Great Ho, Chamku, Drona, Fashion and Dostana. What makes Kaminay special is that Bharadwaj, a master story teller, has given Priyanka a realistic look in the film. However, not all is well on her relationship front. Harman Baweja has reportedly asked his sister Rowena to sever all ties with Priyanka Chopra. Even after the break-up, Rowena continued being friends with her as they get along very well. But now, Rowena has to lose her friend. Harman and his family are very upset with Priyanka after the break-up.

Anushka loses out on Arundhati remake

Telugu hit Arundhati is all set to be remade into a Hindi movie. The filmmakers were actually desperate to cast Anushka Sharma in the title role, but the Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi actress was not chosen for some strange reason. The producer thought that Anushka was under some contract with Yash Raj Films and hence may not be able to sign other banners.
