Fans shared threads of how she had coped with illness during many of her TV shows
In a livestream that felt less like a celebrity update and more like a heart-to-heart, Zhao Lusi revealed what it felt like to be under the microscope. Known for her screen presence and breakout roles in hits like Hidden Love and Who Rules the World, Lusi's fame has been meteoric—but as she revealed, it hasn’t come without emotional cost.
“Let’s grow as we want,” she told fans. “Please don’t get upset about me. Live your own life well, otherwise I’ll feel guilty.”
She also added, "Netizens always say, ‘Just sue them!’ referring to the increasing calls for celebrities to take legal action against malicious trolls. “Do you know how long the litigation process is?”
She went on to share a painful anecdote: “There was once a very malicious anti and I sent them the lawyer letters. But they revealed that their family member was very ill and they had no money to pay... so I let them off. The very next day, they immediately created a new anti-account. My heart feels too tired from everything.”
In the livestream, she half-joked, “Don’t worry about me. If things don’t work out, I’ll open a small noodle shop. “Whatever I do is for a lifetime,” she concluded.
Fans have risen in support of the actress, after she alleged that her agency exploited her financially and emotionally, when she was unwell. "She has worked harder than anyone else, thanks to her that company didn't go bankrupt. She's faced difficulties in a tough industry that's even harder for women, after everything she's had to endure over the years she deserves freedom," one fan wrote. Justice for Zhao Lusi has begun trending on Twitter, with many fans rallying in support for the actress.
