Faux dino chase done as part of a promotional for box office smasher
Dubai: Dinosaur fans were horrified when what looks like a menacing T-Rex suddenly turned up inside a movie multiplex in Dubai, sending many to run for their lives.
Many ended up making a mess and threw their popcorn or nachos at the creature before scampering away. A video of the prank is doing the rounds on social media and has become a Youtube sensation, with nearly half a million views.
One scene, apparently at a grocery parking lot, showed shoppers making a run for it after the synthentic tyranical creature seemed to have chomped off a victim before turning to next.
Most viewer comments found the idea hilarious, while others said it was staged. The faux dino chase was done recently apparently as part of a promotional for the 'Jurassic World' movie opening sponsored by UAE telecom carrier du.
'Jurassic World' brought in $208.8 million (Dh766.9 million) in its first weekend in theatres, the highest-grossing opening weekend of all time, bigger than the original 'Jurassic Park' franchise, Universal Pictures said on Monday.
