Dubai: Red Sternberg, the star on popular Filipino television series T.G.I.S has died aged 50.

According to reports online, Sternberg’s wife, Sandy Sternberg shared the news via Facebook on Friday. The post said, “To be greeted ‘happy birthday’ and ‘sorry for your loss’ at the same time three consecutive days of what was supposed to be a celebration full of birthdays. May was out month! 5th, 28th, 29th and 30th.”

She added, “My husband suddenly passed away the morning of Tuesday, May 27th. To those who knew him from his early acting days, he was ‘Kiko’, but to our three kids and I he was simply Daddy/Dada. Today would have been his 51st birthday.”

Red Sternberg played 'Kiko' in the 90s Filipino show, T.G.I.S (Thank God it’s Sabado), which aired in 1995.

Sandy Sternberg added, “Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers. I would kindly request our need for privacy at this time as we navigate this difficult journey.
