Naved and Sayeeda win ‘Power Couple’ contest

Naved Jaffery and Sayeeda were on Sunday declared the winners of Sony Entertainment Television’s Power Couple contest.

Defeating couples Vindu Dara Singh and Dina, and Shawar Ali and Marcella, Jaffery and Sayeeda took home a prize of Rs5 million (Dh273,777) along with the Power Couple trophy.

Jaffery said: “I am beyond excited. Sayeeda and me didn’t sign up for the show to win the title. We wanted to spend quality time [together], know each other better and further strengthen our already strong relationship as husband and wife.

“The show has given us much more than what we had expected. It feels great to know that all we survived so many tests of love.”

The show featured 10 other celebrity couples, who faced multiple challenges over 13 weeks.

Bollywood star couple Malaika Arora and Arbaaz Khan hosted the show.
