‘Yugpurush’ play comes to the UAE

Stage production looks at Gandhi’s close relationship with his ‘spiritual mentor’ Rajchandra

A play about Mahatma Gandhi’s close friendship with his ‘spiritual mentor’ Rajchandra will be staged in Dubai, Sharjah and Abu Dhabi between September 12 and 15.

Yugpurush recently held its 850th show in India, earning rave reviews, and won the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2017 for Best Drama. Eight teams are simultaneously performing the play across the world.

The first UAE stop will be at the American University of Sharjah on September 12. It will then be held at the Abu Dhabi India Social Cultural Centre on September 13 and at Ductac in Dubai from September 14 to 15. Performances are in Hindi with one performance in Dubai on September 15 being in Gujarati.
