Vishnu’s ‘Kathanayagan’ is an entertainer

“All along he has been kathayil oru nayagan [an actor in a story], this time he is the kathanayagan [the hero of the story],” says debutant director Tha Muruganantham.

Set in Chennai, Kathanayagan is about Thambi Durai working in a government office and his love for Kanmani, a middle-class young woman.

Vishnu Vishal and Catherine Tresa play the lead roles.

Comedian Soori is Anna Durai, close buddy of Thambi Durai, and Saranya Ponvannan plays Vishnu’s mother.

“This is a cocktail of romance, action and comedy,” adds this native of Paramakudi who assisted directors Vikraman and Gokul before going solo with Kathanayagan.

The supporting cast includes Anand Raj, Manobala, Rajendran and Aruldoss.

Kathanayagan releases in the UAE on September 8.
