Mammootty to attend Sharjah Book Fair 2016

South Indian actor Mammootty will be one of the star attractions at this year’s Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF) opening on November 2. The actor and producer, best known for his work in Malayalam cinema, will attend a two-hour session on November 7 where he will talk about his life and career that spans three decades and more than 350 films.

There will also be a cultural showcase on November 10 called Mammootty: Cinema and Life, which will look at the star’s journey from humble beginnings to becoming one of the biggest stars in South India.

A lawyer by profession, Mammootty got his first big break in acting in the 1980s. The session will show he went from one script to another, establishing himself as a star through his hard work and acting calibre in an industry well-known for favouring those with a strong movie lineage.

The 11-day SIBF, hosted by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), runs from November 2 to 12 at the Expo Centre Sharjah. Ticket details are yet to be announced. For more, go to sharjahbookfair.com
