While other movies struggle to hold ground in week two, Saiyaara was busy doubling up
Dubai: Who needs a superhero when love is clearly the ultimate superpower? YRF and Mohit Suri’s Saiyaara has decided that 2025 belongs to it – no arguments, no prisoners.
In just 12 days, this sweeping love story has bulldozed its way to becoming the highest-grossing Hindi film of 2025 in overseas markets, pocketing a cool $10.8m. And if you thought that was impressive, wait till you hear about its second weekend.
While other movies struggle to hold ground in week two, Saiyaara was busy doubling up. Its second weekend haul overseas came in at a whopping $4M, exactly 100% up from its almost $2M opening weekend.
Translation? This romance isn’t slowing down – it’s only getting stronger with age.
The weekend of July 25–27 turned into a global love fest. In major markets such as the UAE, North America, the UK and Australia, Saiyaara did the unimaginable: it knocked Warner Brothers’ heavyweight Superman out of the ring in terms of Per Theatre Average (PTA).
The only film ahead of Saiyaara on that metric? Disney’s brand-new Fantastic 4, which debuted the same weekend. That makes Saiyaara the #2 film in PTA among nationwide releases – and it’s already in its second week.
But hold your popcorn, because the UAE went even wilder. In this region – the undisputed kingpin of Middle Eastern movie markets – Saiyaara actually overtook Disney’s Fantastic 4 in total weekend admissions during its second weekend. Yes, you read that right: an Indian love story outperformed a shiny new superhero franchise in ticket sales. Who’s saving the world now?
And while overseas audiences are showering the film with love, back home Saiyaara is basically rewriting every record in the book. In India, it’s holding steady like a boss despite massive numbers from day one. Rs270.75 crore nett (about $32.5M) in just 12 days is the latest bragging right – and the week two breakdown says it all:
Saiyaara (Hindi) – All India – NBOC – Week 2 (in USD)
Fri – ₹18.50 Cr ($2.2M)
Sat – ₹27.00 Cr ($3.2M)
Sun – ₹30.00 Cr ($3.6M)
Mon – ₹9.50 Cr ($1.1M)
Tue – ₹10.50 Cr (~$1.3M)
That’s ₹95.50 Cr (~$11.5M) for week two so far, adding up to a grand total of ₹270.75 Cr (~$32.5M) nett in India.
So, where does that leave us? With a love story that’s not just topping the box office – it’s redefining it. Saiyaara has proved, yet again, that raw emotion, music, and Mohit Suri’s brand of magic can make even caped crusaders and billion-dollar franchises look over their shoulder.
If 2025 was meant to be a year of superhero domination, no one told Saiyaara. And frankly, after these numbers, no one needs to.
