The actress and global icon is currently in South India to film an ambitious project
Priyanka Chopra Jonas, a global star and UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador, has spent years in the public eye, known for her work in film, philanthropy, and business. But earlier today Visakhapatnam in India, a small but meaningful encounter at a traffic signal gave her pause.
While waiting at the light, Chopra spotted a woman selling guavas by the roadside. A fan of the fruit, she decided to buy the entire lot. The woman quoted Rs 150, and Chopra handed her Rs 200, telling her to keep the change.
But before the light turned green, the fruit seller rushed back, pressing two extra guavas into Chopra’s hands. She had no interest in taking more than what she had earned.
“Here is a working woman who didn’t need charity,” Chopra later reflected. “This is the ethics of a woman.”
From winning Miss World in 2000 to leading roles in Bollywood and Hollywood, Chopra has built a career on ambition and reinvention. Beyond acting, she’s a producer, entrepreneur, and humanitarian, using her platform to advocate for education and gender equality.
