Sonya Hussyn is one enterprising young actress who is always looking for a breakthrough screen role. Her assignments on TV have seen her grow as a performer, from her debut drama serial Dareecha (2011) through Shikwa (2014), and the current Aisi Hai Tanhai and Aangan. She also appeared briefly in director Jami’s first feature, titled Moor (2015), in a non-glamorous avatar, and her next film, Azaadi, clearly shows that Hussyn has come a long way.

But her next play might just have the meatiest part for her. Reportedly, she plays a girl who has been assaulted and raped but she rises to demand justice for herself and the culprits.

Hussyn will be sharing credits with Mohsin Abbas, Sania Saeed, Faris Shafi, Sajid Hasan, and Tariq Jameel.
