Dubai: After being put off twice due to the wild fires that ravaged Los Angeles, the nominations for the 97th Academy Awards were finally revealed by Wicked actor Bowen Yang and Bottoms star Rachel Sennott on Thursday evening.

Jacques Audiard’s French-language crime musical Emilia Perez about a Mexican drug lord topped Oscars nominations with 13 nods. As expected, blockbusters such as Ariana Grande's Wicked dominated this year's top nominees, along with smaller, critically acclaimed movies such as The Brutalist and Anora.

The list of nominees were originally scheduled to be announced January 17 but were put on hold due to the natural disaster engulfing LA, and the Oscars nominees luncheon scheduled for February 10 were also cancelled. However, the ceremony will be held as planned on March 2nd at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. Beloved comedian Conan O’Brien will host the awards night.

As expected, blockbusters such as Ariana Grande's Wicked and Emilia Perez were among this year's top nominees, along with smaller, critically acclaimed movies such as The Brutalist and Anora.
