She claims she chose love over calculation, trust over transaction and it didn't work
Dubai: After months of silence, Aarti Ravi — estranged wife of Tamil actor actor and entrepreneur Jayam Ravi Mohan — has finally spoken out, dispelling toxic allegations surrounding her name, especially the one label that’s followed her since their separation: gold digger.
In a powerful Instagram statement that’s gone viral, Aarti set the record straight.
“I am accused of being a gold digger. If that were ever true, I would have protected my personal interests long ago. But I chose love over calculation. Trust over transaction. And this is where it has brought me.”
It seems to be attempt at reclaiming the narrative around their acrimonious split.
For the past year, Aarti has been raising her two sons, aged 10 and 14, alone while navigating a still-ongoing divorce. She stayed quiet, she says, not because she lacked strength — but because her children deserved peace more than she needed vindication.
“I absorbed every accusation, every cruel whisper. Not because I didn’t have the truth — but because I didn’t want my sons to carry the burden of choosing between parents.”
The emotional gut-punch came when she revealed that the family is now facing home eviction — allegedly at Ravi’s direction.
“Not a whisper of emotional or financial support has followed... and now, we face home eviction — from the bank, on the instructions of the man who once built that very home with me.”
She claims she is now being forced to defend her character publicly.
“I do not regret love. But I will not stand by as that love is rewritten as weakness.”
