Authorities say they have recovered a custom guitar that was stolen from the pop-country trio Rascal Flatts during a concert in Oregon over the weekend.

The band was performing at the Willamette Country Music Festival in Brownsville, north of Eugene, on Friday night when the $2,000 (Dh7,344) instrument went missing backstage.

Linn County sheriff’s detectives were working at the festival and said they were able to identify the suspects as a 19-year-old man from Eugene and a 17-year-old girl from Junction City, both of whom attended the show. Sheriff Bruce Riley said a detective met the man on Sunday and took possession of the guitar, which appeared undamaged.

The suspects were reportedly cooperative when interviewed by investigators. Representatives of the band requested that authorities not pursue criminal charges if the instrument was returned intact.
