Meera's business buzz
Meera may be settling down in Mumbai, India, for good. The buzz is that she is seeing an Indian businessman. Meera , has not confirmed anything and has refused to comment on the issue. Meanwhile, the actress is busy in Sydney, shooting for Javed Shaikh's film.
The real thing
Veena Malik got so caught up in her role that she cried on the sets. The actress was shooting a touching scene in Mohabatein Sacchiyan and burst into tears much to the surprise of the shooting crew and director Khali Rana who hastily stopped the shoot. On enquiring, Malik managed a weak smile and excused herself from the sets. It was only much later that she revealed the reason for her crying - to Rana's amusement.
New avenues
Shaan will be playing the lead in Sangeetha's new venture titled Wehsi, an adaptation of the 1966 Oliver Reed classic The Trap. Shaan is extremely happy with the role as it gives a chance to explore nuances of acting besides violence, a trademark in his films.
Too big to resist
Zeba Bakhtiar will be going to India to discuss signing on for a film that will have songs sung by ex-husband Adnan Sami. Bakhtiar was very clear on not signing on for any venture that would have Sami's name associated with it, but it seems she is ready to make amends now.
Quick takes
- No run of the mill Waris Baig thrilled crowds with his performance at the archaeological city of Harappa recently. The singer was invited by the owner of a textile mill in the area. Baig started with some of his early pre-film hits before moving on to some of his popular film numbers including songs from Sangam, Khilona and Nikah.
- Making a stand Saima Khan couldn't care less about all the brouhaha raised over some of her steamy sequences in her Eid release Khatarnak. Says the actress: "If certain sections of society are raising such a hue and cry over the songs, let them not see my films. Why do they have to go to the theatres and see my films?" Meanwhile, Chairman of the Producers Association Jamshed Zafar and Chairman of the Censor Board Ziauddin will be meeting to discuss whether the scenes ought to be cut from the film even though it has already been launched with the censors' approval.
- Gul's next film Ajab Gul has started working on his next film. Gul will be directing the film that will also see him in the lead role. His last film, Kyun Tum Se Itna Pyar Hai, did not fare as well as he expected at the box office.
- Back to films Aiman wishes to get back to films. The actress has been getting lots of offers on television, but is refraining from accepting them all because she wants to keep time in hand for film offers if they come her way. The actress has done a couple of films - Sangram and Babu - but moved into television a couple of years ago when contracts offered by television networks bettered the pay offered by movie producers.
