Dubai: British rock star Liam Gallagher, who rose to fame with the band Oasis in the 1990s, will be heading to Abu Dhabi to perform next month with his new band, Beady Eye.
The Manchester-born singer will play at the Flash Forum, Yas Island, on September 16 with band members Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, all former members of Oasis.
The band, which included Gallagher and his brother Noel, split after years of acrimony in 2009. While Noel went his own way, releasing a single last month, the other members of the group, known for hits Whatever, Supersonic and Wonderwall, formed Beady Eye.
Gallagher and the band will perform songs from the band's well-recieved debut album 'Different Gear, Still Speeding', but Gallagher is unlikely to perform any Oasis songs, having already refused to do so during Beady Eye performances earlier this year.
Tickets go on sale on Sunday, priced Dh295 for general admission (standing) and Dh495 from www.thinkflash.ae
