Kim Kardashian celebrates law school graduation after six years of study

Kim Kardashian has officially graduated from law school, marking the culmination of six years of intensive legal study and advocacy work.

The 44-year-old media mogul celebrated the milestone with a private commencement ceremony attended by family and close friends.

The intimate gathering included her sister Khloe Kardashian, children Saint (9), Chicago (7), and Psalm (6), and long-time friend and legal activist Van Jones. In a unique twist, Kardashian used her old study notes as place settings for the event, according to E! News.

In a heartfelt speech shared via Instagram Stories, Kardashian thanked her support network, saying, “All of you have been on this journey with me.” She credited a viral Twitter video and an early conversation with Van Jones as the spark for her legal ambitions.

Motivated by her interest in criminal justice reform, Kardashian began a four-year legal apprenticeship at a San Francisco law firm in 2018. The journey wasn’t without challenges — she took California’s First-Year Law Students’ Exam, or "baby bar," three times before passing in 2021. She also completed the Multistate Professional Responsibility Exam (MPRE) in March, a necessary step towards bar admission.

According to her legal mentor, Kardashian studied 18 hours a week for 48 weeks a year over six years — amounting to more than 5,000 hours of legal education. She accomplished this while raising four children, managing her SKIMS brand, filming reality television, and participating in real-world legal advocacy.

While the graduation marks a significant milestone, Kardashian’s legal journey isn’t over. To become a licenced attorney, she must still pass the California Bar Exam, held biannually in February and July.

Kardashian’s path highlights a nontraditional route to law, blending celebrity, activism, and perseverance.
