We told you Jackie Chan’s upcoming film, Kung Fu Yoga, will be coming to Dubai, and the news has just been confirmed. The Hollywood star will shoot Kung Fu Yoga in Dubai over the span of 33 days, starting September 28 and wrapping up on October 30.

A hundred international crew members will be in the city for the shoot, assisted by a local pool of talent. An unspecified “iconic landmark” will be used for a series of car chases. Director Stanley Tong said they are “greatly looking forward to” filming in the UAE.

“The locations we have selected perfectly complement the scenes we are shooting here. Dubai’s iconic skyscrapers and attractions are recognised around the world, and we are excited to work closely with Dubai Film and TV Commission to ensure an enjoyable and successful filming time in Dubai,” he said in a statement.

The film, a production of Beijing Taihe Entertainment Culture Development Co Ltd, marks the first project under India and China’s co-production agreement, which was signed in September last year. UAE production services company, AlKatraz, have been working with the film since April.

Jamal Al Sharif, Chairman of Dubai Film and TV Commission and Managing Director of Dubai Studio City, said they are very excited to welcome Chan and his production team to the city.

“The UAE is becoming an increasingly popular destination for Hollywood and Bollywood productions, and the filming of Kung Fu Yoga in Dubai is another major boost for our film industry,” he said.
