In the aftermath of the recent terror strike in Pahalgam and the ongoing India-Pakistan conflict, the Indian government has tightened restrictions on digital content linked to Pakistan.

On Thursday, Times Of India reported that the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting instructed all OTT and streaming platforms to immediately remove any films, web shows, music, or podcasts originating from Pakistan.

The directive applies to both free and subscription-based services.

This move follows the blocking of Instagram accounts belonging to several Pakistani artists, including actors Fawad Khan and Hania Aamir. Additionally, the planned Indian release of Fawad Khan’s film Abir Gulaal has been suspended.

The official advisory stated that platforms must act “with immediate effect” to ensure no Pakistan-origin content remains accessible to Indian users.
