Iconic singer was married for 59 years to Melinda Rose Woodward, who died of lung cancer six months ago
Singer Tom Jones says he is still struggling to come to terms with the death of his wife, Linda.
“I hear her voice. I see her a lot at night. When I dream that she’s still here and then I wake up and she’s not, that’s the hardest,” said Jones, 76.
Jones was married to Linda for 59 years.
Linda — whose real name was Melinda Rose Woodward — died aged 75 from lung cancer in Los Angeles six months ago.
Asked if he would consider finding love again, Jones said: “I haven’t even thought about that — I really haven’t. It was a devastating thing because we found out she had lung cancer — she didn’t know. She had emphysema, you see, then all of a sudden, boom. I was on tour at the time and I came home and they didn’t know how long we had.”
“It’s still hard. I didn’t know whether I’d be able to get up on stage and be emotional with songs, especially songs that she liked. But I can be and it’s lifted me up and she’s there,” he added.
