Emirati film to compete at festival

The Locarno International Film Festival has announced that it has selected the Emirati film Sabeel in its programme for Pardi Di Domani

Locarno, Switzerland: The Locarno International Film Festival, one of the oldest film festivals along with Cannes and Venice, has announced that it has selected the Emirati film Sabeel in its programme for Pardi Di Domani (Leopards of Tomorrow) in the international competition, competing with more than 22 films from all over the world for the Golden Leopard.

The film won second prize for best Emirati script in the 2010 Gulf Film Festival and it's due to make its world premiere in Locarno.

The film is directed by Khalid Al Mahmood and screenplay by Mohammad Hassan Ahmad and supported by Emirates Foundation and Gulf Film Festival.

The film was shot in Ras Al Khaimah in Khat and Tuwaiyeen mountainous area.
