Double trouble

A family comedy, Old Dogs is a film about two best friends who also happen to be business partners that find their lives turned upside down when unexpectedly charged with the care of twin seven-year-olds, oh, and a dog.

The film features Robin Williams in the role of Dan, a brilliant uptight executive, romantic at heart but unlucky in love. Joining him is Charlie, played by John Travolta, who's a fun-loving bachelor who enjoys his privacy and expensive things, but has never planned on a family. One fine day, Dan's ex-wife Vicki (Kelly Preston), shows up with his twins: Zach and Emily, (played by Conner Rayburn and Ella Bleu Travolta) after she had kept them a secret for seven years, the result of a hasty one-day marriage, and let's not forget the hasty divorce.

Not familiar with children, Dan and Charlie find themselves in a total mess, and all while on the verge of striking the biggest business deal of their lives. Assisting them in this not-so-friendly task is co-worker Ralph (Seth Green), an ambitious young maverick longing to succeed in the sports marketing business.

As Dan and Charlie deal with the twins, the film has loads of funny moments, including a ball game and a scout camp that features Matt Dillon in the role of Barry, a serious scout instructor who comes from four generations of pioneers. The film also features the late Bernie Mac as Johny Lunchbox, a flamboyant over-the-top child entertainer, who also happens to be a genius with electronics, Tom Hanks' wife Rita Wilson also pops up as Vicki's best friend.

With chaos running high, the not-so-kid savvy bachelors stumble in their effort to take care of the twins and the dog, leading to one disaster after another, and eventually leading to their learning the true meaning of life and family.

Directed by Walt Becker, Hollywood's accomplished director, screenwriter, producer and a best-selling author, Old Dogs is a family entertainer that's suitable for all ages.
