Bollywood actor Dharmendra discharged from Mumbai hospital

 Veteran Bollywood actor Dharmendra has been discharged from Breach Candy hospital this morning (Wednesday), reported PTI.

Quoting his doctor, the Press Trust of India said the family has decided to take him home for treatment.

The 89-year-old has been in and out of hospital for weeks.

In an official statement, the family has said: "We appreciate everyone’s love, prayers, and good wishes for his continued recovery, good health, and long life. Please respect him because he loves you."

The news comes after a day fraught with false narratives of the Indian icon's death. After a number of rumours began to circulate, his family addressed the world, asking for sensitivity and truthful reporting.

Hema Malini, for instance, wrote on X: "What is happening is unforgivable! How can responsible channels spread false news about a person who is responding to treatment and is recovering? This is being extremely disrespectful and irresponsible. Please give due respect to the family and its need for privacy."
