Hani Salama is one of the young Egyptian stars who has chosen a different path. He has not limited himself to romantic roles, trying as much as possible to play various roles in social and political drama and comedies.

His films include Ezzay Tekhali Al-Banat Tehebak (How to Make Girls Love you), Al Assifa (The Storm) and Ouija.

There's no doubt that he received guidance from director Youssuf Shaheen, when he worked with him in Al Maseer (Destiny), and learned how to balance market facts and his ambitions as an artist.

Beside, Hani has not entered the box office race or the competition between Egyptian stars in the first place. His bet was on the quality of his films, regardless of competition.

Hani, in his own words, refuses to stand in the “grey area''. He is always trying to develop his acting tools, and looking for roles that add to his credit, even if this means fewer films. For Hani, quality is much more important than quantity.

In his latest film Khiyana Mashrua (Legitimate Treason), which is directed by Khalid Youssuf, he counts on a complicated scenario that asks many questions about human relations.

“I'm not concerned whether the character I play is good or evil, as he has touches of both. This is why I wanted to play this part,'' Hani said.
