Breaking & making up

Doesn't it seem apt that of all people in Hollywood, it would be Jennifer Aniston to star in a movie called The Break-Up?

There's just sooooooo much going on in Jennifer Aniston's life, that we don't even know where to begin.

Do we talk about The Break-Up (yes, we mean both the movie and the real-life scenario), the alleged upcoming marriage to co-star Vince Vaughn, the release of two movies: The Break-Up and Friends With Money, the pity angle, the stop-pitying-Jennifer angle, the life after Friends angle, her refusal to do a Friends reunion ...

Like we said, where do we begin? Perhaps most apt, for the moment at least, would be the Break-Up angle (the movie this time, not Brad), which, naturally, is intricately linked with the Vince Vaughn angle.

At the recent press junket of the movie in California on May 18, looks to us like Vinnifer did a Brangelina.

Remember back when Mr and Mrs Smith was released? Everyone knew what was going on between Brad and Angie - except poor Jen perhaps - yet the soon-to-be-couple refused to make any appearances together.

This despite being the lead stars of the movie. That, naturally, only set tongues wagging even further.

Now it's Jen's turn, and she seems to have done the same thing: refusing to be photographed with Vince, turning up separately at their big premiere, pretending the other doesn't even exist.

Again, this despite the fact that they are the lead stars. So naturally, tongues are wagging once more.

And who's to blame? Surely not the poor tongues. How could they not wag when one week Vince talks about his relationship with Jen, who in turn talks of starting a family, and then they play the ignorance game.

It was only earlier this month on The Oprah Winfrey Show that Vince declared once and for all to the world that Jennifer is "one of my favourite people ... She's really smart, funny and easy to be with."

So what gives? Why would Vinnifer do a Brangelina? Could it be that despite everything she says, she isn't quite over Brad yet? Earlier this month Star magazine reported a friend of Aniston saying, "Jennifer thinks Angelina has Brad on a string and can get him to do anything. She thinks she's made him the laughing stock of the world."

Ouch. But then again - and here's the pity angle - doesn't Jen deserve some slack? She's been dumped, her ex has just had a baby with someone else, Friends is history, and the media can't stop obsessing over her relationship with Vaughn. Come on guys, give her a break.

But we digress. That's not the point of this story is it? Jen's been saying over and over again that she's fed-up of people feeling sorry for her. So, - now comes the stop-pitying-Jennifer angle - let's give her her dues. She's quit whining about the unfairness of life, so we need to quit the pity.

And we will, just as soon as figure out why Jen's still obsessing over Brad and Angie? It's been a year, right?

They've moved on - heck, they've moved all the way to Africa! - so why does she still feel the need to follow in his footsteps? Why pull a Brangelina when the world is just waiting for a Vinnifer original to take place?
